Over the next several years, locals will be seeing a variety of new property developments that are slated to grow the area and enhance the modern vibe. These projects include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lincoln High School Rebuild (approved)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A new six-story building and a new track &amp; field located on the superblock of SW 18<sup>th<\/sup> Ave, SW Salmon Street, SW 14<sup>th<\/sup> Ave, and SW Jefferson Street.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Providence Park Stadium Expansion (recently completed)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A four-tiered, 4,000-seat addition plus a covered arcade along SW 18<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Burnside Street Mixed-Use Property (under construction)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A seven-to-eight-story building with 130+ apartments, underground parking, and retail space facing Burnside Street and Alder Street.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Press Blocks Complex (under construction)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A three-building complex consisting of a 250-foot apartment tower, a 53-foot full-block plaza building, and a 120-foot commercial building as well as underground parking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Butler Block Mixed-Use Property (approved)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An eight-story complex featuring 150+ residential units and ground-floor retail space.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Taylor Street Apartment Complex \u2013 1440 SW Taylor (approved)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A seven-story complex yielding 100+ apartments and ground-floor parking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Morrison Street Mixed-Use Property (approved)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 224-foot-tall building with 300+ residential units, underground parking, and 4,000 square feet of retail space<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Alder Street Apartment Complex (proposed)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A six-to-seven-story complex featuring 200+ apartments and a small ground-floor parking area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Taylor Street Apartment Complex \u2013 1500 SW Taylor (proposed)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A seven-story building yielding 100+ residential units and ground-floor parking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u201cNorth Hollow Apartments\u201d Mixed-Use Property (completed)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A six-story building on SW Taylor Street with 121 apartment\/retail units, 900 square feet of retail space, and an underground parking area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Alta Art Tower&#8221; Apartment Complex (approved)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A high-rise tower at 1516 SW Alder St. that will feature 314 residential units and ground-floor retail space.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Market Hill Commons&#8221; Apartment Complex (approved)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A five-story complex (most of it set to be constructed below the grade of SW Market St.) yielding 16 residential units and 16 parking spaces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Greystar Multifamily Building (approved)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 182-unit multifamily residential building across from Providence Park designed to evoke the famous Flatiron building in NYC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About Goose Hollow<\/h2>\n<p>Established in 1845, the Goose Hollow neighborhood is the oldest neighborhood in Portland. Its first resident was Daniel Lownsdale, who declared a sizable Portland land claim and opened a tannery near what is now Providence Park. At the time, it was the only tannery west of the Rockies and north of Mexico, which helped boost commerce for the city significantly.<\/p>\n<p>As individuals began to make a home in the area, Goose Hollow grew in both size and popularity. Today, it spans north to south from Burnside Street to the Tualatin Mountains and east to west from I-405 to Washington Park. Goose Hollow\u2019s historic charm has remained throughout the years; the neighborhood boasts a variety of early 20<sup>th<\/sup>-century buildings and homes that are on the National Historic Register.
